Judge Scott Gardner is the District Judge for Division “G” of the Twenty-Second Judicial District Court of the State of Louisiana.

Scott graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Public Policy, and from Tulane Law School. He was Chief of Trials in New Orleans, and was the Career Criminal Prosecutor at the DA’s office in Washington and St. Tammany Parish. He was elected district judge in the 22nd Judicial District in 2013. He has served on the Governor’s Domestic Violence Prevention Task Force, and Sex Trafficking Commissions. He created and implemented Gwen’s Law hearing protocols for felony cases in the 22nd JDC. He served on the Louisiana District Judges’ Association Executive Committee, and the LDJA Legislative Committee. He began and currently chairs the Family Justice Initiative. He is a member of the Louisiana Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. He has general jurisdiction, and additionally handles all delinquency and neglect cases in his district. He supervises two of the seven Family Preservation Courts in Louisiana. He serves on the Louisiana Family Preservation Court Oversight Committee. His team has introduced innovations for families and children, including Best for Baby and the Kidsense Waiting Room. He is a graduate of the Early Childhood Policy Leadership Initiative. He regularly presents on topics germane to families in court, including child development, family violence, ACE training, and the pitfalls of congregate care. He has received the Pearl Williams Leadership Award, Champions for Children, and the CASA Judge of the Year.
